There’s No Place Like… Lydia’s Home
Have you ever walked into a person’s home for the first time and felt instantly at home? That happened to me yesterday when my youngest son and I went to my friend Lydia’s house. She greeted me at the door wearing the most adorable embroidered vintage apron. Our plan was to spend some time knitting, but first she gave me the tour of her beautiful home.
Each room has a different seasonal theme. Look at this fall vignette in her kitchen.

The living room has a summer theme. Here is a picture of her fireplace. How cute is this!

I love the rag garland she made and hung with pictures. The pictures are squares of wallpaper in coordinating colors put into different sized frames painted the same color.

Here’s the close up of the garland Lydia made. It is so pretty!

After the tour, she had a tea party ready for the kids. They had hot tea in little porcelain cups, homemade cookies straight from the oven, and yummy snacks. Doesn’t Lydia look so cute in her apron?!

While the kids were having their party, we went into the living room and Lydia helped me with my knitting. It had been a year since I had last knitted, and I had forgotten everything - even how to cast on! But she’s a good teacher, and after I finally untangled my yarn I made some decent progress!
Thanks Lydia - I had a GREAT time!
